Raikkonen happy with third

Raikkonen happy with third

Kimi Raikkonen found his way back to the front of the field in qualifying, putting his Ferrari third on the grid for tomorrow's Singapore Grand Prix and so nearly losing control in the final corner of his first flying lap in Q3.

Raikkonen was recovering early in qualifying when he ran off track in the middle sector.

"Unfortunately we had some issues with the steering wheel this morning and I ran wide and had trouble getting back which was unfortunate," Raikkonen said after qualifying. "The car has been pretty good and overall it wasn't too bad. I thought it was better on the softer tyres, but we weren't sure so we stayed on the harder tyres and maybe we should have gone the other way but it probably wouldn't have made an awful lot of difference."

"I'm reasonably happy and third is not too bad," he added. "It's very hot and humid here which is the main challenge, not very physical. It's quite bumpy in places which is the only negative thing but apart from that it's a good circuit to drive."
