Kubica on top in wet free practice
11 October 2008 / Results / PhotosRobert Kubica ended on top of the time sheets in Saturday morning's free practice session in wet conditions. The session started extremely wet but towards the end of the one-hour practice session the times dropped rapidly.
The one-hour free practice session got under way at 10.00 am with most drivers going out on track on the extreme wet weather tyre. The track was extremely wet but would slowly dry through out the session.
Half way in to the session the Formula 1 drivers changed their tyres to intermediates and the Formula One fans saw Lewis Hamilton top the time sheets for a while. But as the session continued and the track dried the times dropped rapidly.
In the final 15 minutes the fans saw various drivers going fastest while the McLaren and Ferrari drivers stayed in their pitboxes.
At Force India both Adrian Sutil and Giancarlo Fisichella were unable to complete the scheduled number of laps. Both drivers had technical problems with their cars. Although they were in their pitbox for most of the session they looked to have sorted out the problems as they showed themselves on track in the final minutes of the session.
