The Force India Formula One Team started its Turkish Grand Prix challenge today with two one and a half hour practice sessions at a chilly and overcast Istanbul Park. Giancarlo Fisichella and Adrian Sutil both completed 23 laps in the morning, recording the 15th and 14th quickest times respectively. Unfortunately however Giancarlo was just seconds early in exiting the pit lane at the start of the session - crossing the line just a fraction before the red light - and was handed a three-place grid penalty for the race.

Renault Team began its preparations for the Turkish Grand Prix today as both Fernando Alonso and Nelson Piquet completed trouble-free practice sessions. Track conditions were poor with low temperatures contributing towards a low-grip surface and a lunchtime rain shower giving a damp start for the afternoon session. Despite this the team was able to complete a productive day's work to leave the team hopeful of a competitive performance in tomorrow's qualifying session.
