Giancarlo Fisichella and Adrian Sutil both completed 23 laps in the morning, recording the 15th and 14th quickest times respectively. Hamilton completed 31 laps and set a best time of 1.27.579 and was 36 thousandths of a second behind the fastest lap of the afternoon. Kovalainen did 27 laps and did 1.27.954.
